River restoration

Nowadays, National and European laws have recognized the importance of river restoration, i.e. on the attempt to give a restore more natural conditions in rivers often enclosed in rigid defence structures. A restored river is important not only for environmental reasons (an "artificial" river would never meet the "good status" required by European Directive 2000/60), but also to reduce hydrogeological risks.
